Trezza’s Rules of Engagement is a combat manual and treatise on survival. It is the product of both extensive study and hard experience. It contains information and observations from actual as well as potential combat situations. Reading this work alone is not sufficient to protect one’s self or others. Diligent practice, training, and dedication are necessary in order to comprehend, utilize, and become accomplished with the techniques, methods, and philosophy contained herein. You cannot master the contents of this work simply by reading it!

The methodology and approach described in this work is a foundation for combat effectiveness. It cannot take every situation and circumstance into account. The judgement of the individual on the scene takes precedence over other scenarios. Even slight changes in conditions can change the response required. All conditions must be evaluated and taken into consideration in any combat situation. What works in one conflict may not be appropriate in another. This is just one of the reasons that training, training, and re-training are critical in order to apply the principles contained herein. If you think reading this book, or any book, will magically bestow upon you the same capability and effectiveness that was developed over 40 years of intense training and experience – you are an idiot.

Lastly, this is a close-quarters combat manual. No discussion whatsoever has been given to the law, or the legal consequences of utilizing the techniques and methods described in these pages. If you are in a combat situation, and you believe that your survival or the survival of your family depends upon your ability to protect – and you respond with deadly force, you may find yourself in serious legal difficulties whether you were justified to use deadly force or not. This is a judgement call YOU have to make. The responsibility for this decision, legally, ethically, and morally, is yours and yours alone. My personal feelings and philosophy on this matter are clear and unambiguous, but they are mine. This is a personal matter. You must apply your own ethics, morals, and judgement.
